Affiliated Companies

From time to time, DKM affiliates may acquire companies, normally as majority shareholder, together with other equity investors. These transactions are financed separately, typically with no participation by DKM, and are more exit driven than DKM acquisitions. The most recent divested investment of this type was in radio broadcasting. There is currently one such holding, described below.

Burner Systems International

A DKM affiliate as majority shareholder, together with two private equity funds, formed Gas Components Group in 2002 as a holding vehicle for the gas appliance components sector. GasCo first acquired Burner Systems International, followed by BSI's purchase of the The Sourdillon Group. In 2003-04, BSI acquired Precision Engineered Components and Appliance Controls Group (Harper-Wyman). The combined group of companies manufactures burners, valves, supply tubing, manifolds, switches and thermostats, and related assemblies, for the leading manufacturers of gas-fired appliances throughout the world, including ranges, cooktops, furnaces, boilers, grills and fireplaces. Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, BSI operates facilities also in Mexico, France and England.
