Hapco, the leading aluminum light and traffic pole manufacturer within the North American Outdoor Lighting Industry, designs and manufactures highly engineered aluminum light poles and traffic control poles sold to the transportation, utility, commercial, municipal and industrial markets. The company has recently expanded its decorative lamp post product line, providing architectural lighting poles for its various consumer markets. Hapco also produces aluminum flagpoles for worldwide distribution under the American Flagpole brand. The Hapco and American Flagpole aluminum manufacturing facilities are located in Abingdon, Virginia. In 2002 Hapco entered the steel pole market segment of the U.S. Outdoor Lighting Industry, offering square steel poles. In October 2007, Hapco relocated the steel pole manufacturing operations to a new facility in Gastonia, North Carolina.
